The Wake-up Call That'll Change Your View on Wealth
What if stepping away from your business could actually make you wealthier?
Nikki Nash discovered this truth the hard way - a serious car accident forced her to confront a terrifying reality: her entire business would collapse without her. Here are three game-changing insights from our conversation that could transform how you think about building real wealth.
Stop trading hours for dollars (even the premium ones)
Most of us build businesses where we're the main ingredient. VIP days, one-on-one coaching, consulting - it feels good to be needed, but it's a wealth trap. Nikki realised her coaching business, no matter how profitable, would never have a high valuation because buyers aren't purchasing systems - they're purchasing her time.
The shift? Keep the work that brings you joy (she still does retreats and VIP days) but use that income to invest in assets that appreciate without your involvement. Think rental properties, businesses you don't operate, or equity stakes. You're not abandoning what you love - you're funding what will set you free.
Your brain will sabotage your success (and that's normal)
"Are you really being true to yourself or are you using thoughts, feelings, emotions and fears to keep you playing small?" Nikki's question cuts deep because our brains are designed to keep us safe, not successful. That voice saying "I don't want to be an influencer" or "I'm not salesy" isn't protecting your authenticity - it's protecting your comfort zone.
The antidote? Thank your brain for trying to keep you safe, then do the thing anyway. Every time you choose growth over comfort, you're rewiring your neural pathways. Confidence isn't something you're born with - it's something you build through repetition.
Marketing really is just like dating
Stop overthinking your marketing strategy and start thinking about where your ideal clients hang out. Just like dating, you need to show up where they are, spark genuine conversations, and build relationships over time. Nikki's "Just Like Dating" method works because it removes the weird pressure we put on marketing and makes it human again.
The process: Meet (where are they?), connect (start conversations), exchange information (lead magnets), get to know each other (nurture sequences), and if you're aligned, make a commitment (your offer). Marketing becomes less about pushing and more about attracting the right people naturally.
